Creator God, we offer our thanks for the wonders of this world. Guide us to better stewardship of all creation.
Lord, meet us in the silence,
And hear our prayer
O Lord our governor, we bring you the religious and secular leaders of this world. Direct them towards your justice.
Lord, meet us in the silence,
And hear our prayer
Spirit of inspiration, we ask your blessing on the lay leaders of this congregation. We pray especially for Amanda, Stephen and Rosie – our parish representatives – who will be commissioned next Sunday into their roles in our search for a new vicar.
Lord, meet us in the silence
And hear our prayer
Nurturing Lord, we give thanks for the women who brought us into the world and all who have nurtured and comforted us. At this time of pandemic and mass migration, we offer our special prayers for mothers who grieve lost children and children who mourn mothers.
Lord, meet us in the silence
And hear our prayer
Abundant Lord, we bring you our hunger and ask for your sustenance as we journey through this lonely Lent. Guide us with your promise of resurrection.
Lord, meet us in the silence,
And hear our prayer
Comforting Lord, we offer our prayers for those here with us today and worshipping at home, who have borne the loss of neighbours, friends, loved ones without the physical embrace of friends and family.
Lord, meet us in the silence,
And hear our prayer
Resurrecting Lord, we bring before you the souls of the departed, remembering by name Janet Budd and Amanda Davies, and holding in our hearts those whose years’ mind comes at this time.
Rest eternal grant unto them, O Lord
And my light perpetual shine upon them.
Gathering our prayers with Peter, our patron, and Mary, the mother of our Lord, we ask as one, that you,
Merciful Father, accept these prayers, for the sake of your son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Amen.
