Intercessions
From Jay Wilkes
Father, we thank you for Queen Elizabeth II and her devoted service to the country as we approach her Platinum Jubilee.
We ask that Queen Elizabeth might be strengthened in mind and body.
May our celebrations both locally and nationally be a way of strengthening our community and nation.
Lord hear us
We thank you, Lord God, for your gift of this church St Peters and give thanks for your many blessings and answers to prayer over the last year.
We ask that we would learn to be obedient.
May we stand under your holy peace next to each other today as we hold our Annual Meeting.
Help the new PCC to work as a team to build up this church community and reflect God’s glory.
We pray for Fr Simon and Sara that they may be blessed in their ministry here and led by your Spirit in their actions and decisions.
Lord hear us
Omnipotent God, we see the world with its challenges and threats overseas and the consequences globally. We continue to pray that peace will be negotiated in the many areas at war.
Help us daily to be your ambassadors for peace.
We ask that wisdom prevails and that the poor and displaced should find safety, resources and shelter.
Lord hear us
Help us to listen to the teaching of the Holy Spirit and to experience God’s peace in our individual lives so that we can deal with our own troubled thoughts and fears and in facing our own vulnerability.
May we be in solidarity with each other in St Peter’s church and in our local communities in difficult times.
We pray for those we know who are sick and struggling with their health asking for healing and support.
Lord hear us
We lift before God, any known to us who have recently died and we pray for their families.
From our Book of Remembrance we lift the names of:
Frank Moore Matilda Norman Vera George Renee Flower John Stock Henry England
William Gregory Rose German Alan Butler May Malcolm
Grant them eternal rest, O Lord and may thy light perpetual shine upon them.
