Intercessions
From Margaret Glover
In grace and humility, we bring before you our prayers for our neighbours, near and far, and for all creation.
Creator God, we give you thanks for the many blessings of the summer and offer our prayers for the people who toil for our nourishment.
Lord hear us,
Lord graciously hear us
Son of God, we ask for your blessings on our worship here at St Peter’s. We rejoice in the freedom with which we gather in your name and pray for our brothers and sisters who proclaim your word and share the sacrament in fear.
Lord hear us,
Lord graciously hear us
Spirit of Unity, we offer you our prayers for a broken world, for communities and families suffering the impact of violence in all its manifestations, for the victims and perpetrators in their midst so desperately in need of divine love and human compassion. SILENCE
Lord hear us,
Lord graciously hear us
Almighty God, we pray for the humility and courage to offer ourselves in service to social and climate justice.
Lord hear us,
Lord graciously hear us
Good Shepherd, we pray for the patience to minister to those who suffer in body, mind or spirit and for the generosity to meet those in need where they are with listening hearts.
Lord hear us,
Lord graciously hear us
Risen Lord, we pray for the recently departed and for those whose year’s mind comes at this time – Bertha Oliver, Dorothy Franklin, Emma Marsh, Erica Hunninger, Margaret Edwards, Yvonne Caffin.
Rest eternal grant onto them, O Lord,
And may light perpetual shine upon them.
Gathering our prayers with Mary, the mother of our Lord, and Peter, our patron, merciful Father, accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.
