Order of Service
Home Worship Advent 3 12th December
Sermon
From Sarah Dallas, Lay Minister
Intercessions
From Boachie Dankwah, Pastoral Assistant
On this 3rd Sunday in Advent as we await the coming of Jesus Christ whose birth was to save our iniquities, who later died and again to save our iniquities. Let us as a new beginning use the birth and death of Christ to repent of our sins.
As we await the birth of our saviour, this will cause for celebration where many of us will meet family, friends and loved ones. Sadly, many of us will also spend the festive season alone, some will have no shelter and without food. Loving Father, be a companion to those who will spend the festive season alone, be their shelter as they will have nowhere to sleep and be their provider so that they never leave without food

We pray for our church and all those who worship and have connection with us in many ways. We thank everyone’s contribution for the upkeep of our church. Father of all, king of kings.
We thank you for our vicar, Father Simon.
Make Father Simon a successful king to lead us to the path you want us to be. May he receive everyone’s support in his entire ministry here at St Peter’s.

We pray for those who suffer abuse and neglect. We pray especially for Arthur Labinjo-Hughes who suffered physical abuse in the hands of his father and step-mum and sadly died. Children and vulnerable adults are defenceless. Dear Lord, we know that you have the ability to give power to the powerless and your fullness to the empty of spirit. Heal those who are abused and neglected in their wounds, free them from fear and restore them to true health.
Lord, in your mercy

We pray for peace and harmony in all parts of the world. Lord, help us to show love to those who hate us so that they can be our friends.

We commit the souls of the recent departed, comfort and strength of those who are mourning the loss of the loved ones. We pray especially for Ben Oddoye and his family who is mourning the loss of his uncle Kirk Oddoye. We also pray for Isha Parker and her family who is also mourning the loss of her brother Bockarie Marah.
We remember those who have gone before us and the anniversary of their death falls at this time – namely Ben Firmin, Sally Smith, Joseph Jacobs, Michael Akingbade and Dennis Bailey
Rest eternal grant unto them O Lord, And may light perpetual shine upon them
Merciful Father,
Accept these prayers for the sake of your son, our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen.
